Who created and fashioned in due proportion,
003Ayah 3 of 19
and Who determined [the creation] then inspired them,
004Ayah 4 of 19
and Who brings forth the pasture,
005Ayah 5 of 19
then makes it into withered chaff.
006Ayah 6 of 19
We will teach you [the Qur’an], so you will not forget,
007Ayah 7 of 19
except what Allah wills[1], for indeed He knows what is manifest and what is hidden.
Translation notes: [1] i.e., except what Allah wills to make you forget for wisdom such as abrogating or replacing a ruling by another.
008Ayah 8 of 19
We will guide you to the easy way[2].
Translation notes: [2] To the way of Islam which brings about ease in this life and attainment of Paradise in the Hereafter, or will give you opportunities for righteous deeds that lead to Paradise.

So remind, if the reminder should benefit[3].

He who fears Allah will take heed,

but the wretched will avoid it,

who will enter the Great Fire,
013Ayah 13 of 19
wherein he will neither die nor live.

Indeed, he who purifies himself will attain success,
015Ayah 15 of 19
and remembers his Lord’s Name and prays.
016Ayah 16 of 19
But you prefer the life of this world,
017Ayah 17 of 19
even though the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
018Ayah 18 of 19
Indeed, this was in the earlier Scriptures,
019Ayah 19 of 19
the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
